This will be main page for VDSI project – what you can see by now is only a draft so that You know what VDSI is about.

1. Short history of project:

   This project was written for classes from “Multiprocessor Vision Systems”.

   First version of VDSI was a distributed image processing system based on COM and .NET technology - .NET GUI was preparing task for the server, Server based on its configuration was dividing task in small chunks and computing them in parallel on each 'worker' machine.

2. Project's future

   Goal of this project is to provide easy to use and multi-platform image processing application.

   As a main platform we have chosen .NET and Mono.

   Things that will be redesign:

• GUI – signals routing

• GUI – adding new set of blocks

• GUI – support for other languages

• Engine – solver will be fully manged code

• Engine – Removing distributed commuting as a very seldom used feature that requires from a user too much effort

• Engine – redesign way that image from camera is being processed (working in the loop)

• Pluggings – adding new functionalities

• Pluggings – making interface more simple

• OS – making not only GUI but also solver work under UNIX based systems
